Tesla could end up selling 800,000 EVs in 2021

Tesla has been the pioneer of EVs for the last decade and for the past few years, it has been on a run to deliver more EVs to its increasing customers as well as bring innovative new cars to the market. Its cars like Model 3 and Model Y are being sold like hot cakes to a wide range of customers.

In 2021, Tesla is also set to sell 800,000 EVs as per Digitimes report, increasing by 60.1% year-on-year, with the more price-friendly Models 3 and Model Y together accounting for up to 90.4% of the sales.

Last year, Tesla sold almost 500,000 EVs, with a global market share of 16%. Among them, 140,000 units of the Model 3 were sold in China only for a EV market share of 11% and around 88,000 units in Europe for a 6% in 2020.

Not only selling EVs, Tesla involves in a lot of other businesses as well, including the sales of software consisting of FSD (full self-driving) kits, payable OTA (over the air) functional upgrades, subscription-based infotainment services.

Elon Musk led Tesla is also optimistic about the autonomous driving technology development and it also plans to establish Robotaxi Network to operate rental self-driving taxicabs, as its new business model.
