## Why This Is a Big Deal?

Earlier this year, FBL 2.0 became the first on-ground LAN tournament for a made-in-India game. The FVS Finals go a step further as the first **squad-based** LAN finals. That format demands teamwork, strategy and coordination at the highest level.

The finals capped the game’s first FVS competitive season. Lakhs of players competed online across India under the TCT Team Points scoring system, and only the top squads reached the two-day LAN bracket in Mumbai.\

## The Pan-India Story

A player from Diu even teamed up with players from Mumbai and Pune on the winning squad. nCore Games founder Vishal Gondal called it grassroots esports at its finest.

Dot9 Games CEO Deepak Ail said the result shows Indian esports talent is ready for the big stage. GamingCon Bharat itself drew over 20,000 visitors across two days, with free-play zones, esports tournaments and the IndieVerse showcase for independent studios.

## What It Means for Indian Esports?

- **Homegrown games get a real stage.** LAN finals add the crowd energy and credibility of [esports](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esports) events elsewhere.
- **Teams are the focus.** Squad-based play rewards coordination, not just individual skill.
- **Pathways are opening.** The Orangutan Esports training prize shows how a win can lead to professional exposure.
