The whole world was shocked as Real seemed to sign Mbappe surely in the summer as they missed on other transfer targets like Haaland who joined Manchester City.
As Mbappe has decided to renew his contract with PSG, Real Madrid would now want to strengthen the other areas of their squad. French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is one of the priority transfer targets now that Mbappe will not be joining Real Madrid this summer.
The Monaco star has a price tag of around €70-80 million and has been closely linked with a switch to the Bernabeu for months. Now, it might be the best time for him to make the switch.
Aurelien Tchouameni has decided to join Real Madrid
According to various sources, it has now been reported that Aurelien Tchouameni has chosen Real Madrid among all the other top European clubs like Liverpool and PSG who wanted to sign him. He will join Real Madrid this summer on a 5-year contract. This transfer will definitely cost more than €50m, as per the reports.
Tchouameni has been in excellent form this season for Monaco and is one of the best young defensive midfielders right now. Real Madrid needed a defensive cover for Casemiro and the Monaco star is the perfect replacement.
Real Madrid’s celebrated midfield of Kroos, Casemiro and Modric is not growing younger. So as time passes by, they will pass on the midfield baton to Valverde, Camavinga and Tchouameni.
So signing the French midfielder seems to be the right decision to strengthen their midfield. However, Real Madrid would still need to strengthen other areas as well like a right-back and right-winger on priority.
