At the Auto Expo 2023, Tata Motors unveiled a number of new products, including the brand-new Tata Punch CNG, as part of its plans to diversify its product line in the nation.
One of the most anticipated CNG vehicles in recent months, the Punch CNG provides purchasers with a powerful package. The Tata Punch CNG debuted as the brand’s third CNG vehicle and is ranked above the Tigor CNG and the Tiago CNG in the market.
The Tata Punch iCNG’s exterior style hasn’t changed, but it is now available with a modified suspension setup and a few other small adjustments to handle the added weight of the CNG package. The Punch offers the same features as the standard petrol version of the micro-SUV, including Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and a large touchscreen entertainment system, a semi-digital instrument console, and much more. The cabin is similar, and it is equipped with the same features as the normal petrol version.
The 1.2L Revotron engine of the Tiago CNG, which is available with a factory-fitted CNG kit, is the same engine that powers the Punch CNG. There is only one gearbox option available to purchasers, a 5-speed manual transmission, and this engine’s max torque and power outputs in CNG mode are 95 Nm and 73.4 PS.
The new iCNG arrangement enhances in-city driveability by delivering a powerful low-end in addition to outstanding power output figures. This engine’s highest power production in gasoline-only mode is 86 PS, while its maximum torque output is 113 Nm.
One of the safest vehicles currently being sold in the Indian market is the Tata Punch, which is constructed on the ALFA platform. Additionally, it received a 5-star rating in GNCAP’s crash tests. For those who are curious, the latest Tata Punch CNG will cost between ₹90,000 and ₹1 lakh more than the regular petrol variants.
