Tata Sierra ICE Unveiled in Near-Production Form, Set to Launch in 2025

Tata Sierra ICE: Near-Production Model Unveiled, Launch Expected in H2 2025

The next-generation Tata Sierra ICE is set to hit Indian roads in the second half of 2025, offering both petrol and diesel powertrain options. Tata Motors showcased the near-production model of the Sierra ICE on the inaugural day of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi. Alongside the ICE variant, the Sierra will also spawn an electric version, which was previewed in earlier motor shows. The overall design of the ICE version closely mirrors its zero-emission counterpart.

Sleek Design with a Modern Touch

The updated Tata Sierra reimagines the original model’s iconic single-piece rear glass with a contemporary twist. It features a black-painted roofline finisher and a panoramic sunroof, creating a seamless floating roof effect. The SUV’s bold stance is complemented by smooth bodywork, pronounced haunches, and a clean shoulder line. The grille-free bonnet and prominent “SIERRA” branding at the front further add to its distinctive character.

The front of the Sierra boasts an LED DRL strip in a continuous curve, lending it a futuristic edge. The main headlamps are positioned lower for enhanced functionality, while the wide air intake and robust skid plate enhance its SUV appeal. At the rear, the design is characterized by a clamshell-style tailgate, sleek taillights, and a blacked-out D-pillar for a striking visual impact.

Dimensions (Estimated):

  • Length: 4,300 mm
  • Width: 1,800 mm
  • Height: 1,600 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2,650 mm
  • Ground Clearance: 200 mm
  • Boot Space: 450 litres

Powertrain Options

Besides unique wheels and grille updates, the 2025 Tata Sierra ICE shares much of its styling with the previously showcased electric concept. It is expected to offer two engine options:

  1. 1.5L Turbo Petrol – Power: 170 hp | Torque: 280 Nm
  2. 2.0L Diesel – Power: 170 hp | Torque: 350 Nm

Both engines will likely be paired with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions, and Tata may even introduce a 4WD system.

  • A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display
  • A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
  • A passenger-side 12.3-inch screen

Other premium features include a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, a Harman Kardon sound system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, multiple airbags, connected car technology, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Launch Timeline

Tata Motors is also gearing up to launch the Harrier EV in the coming months. The Tata Sierra ICE is anticipated to arrive in the latter half of 2025, preceding the debut of the fully electric Sierra EV and the Avinya concept-based EV.
