Tanguy Ndombele joined Tottenham Hotspur from Lyon in 2019 for £54million. Everybody had high hopes from him given his price tag, but he found his first season at the North London club quite difficult. He found it hard to adjust to life at Spurs.

This season, we’re seeing a different Ndombele. He has been one of the best players for Jose Mourinho. He has rediscovered his form and is slowly achieving his best form.

Although the 24-year-old is happy at Tottenham Hotspur, he is open to a move to Paris Saint-Germain in the future. He had also talked with Mbappe about playing together.

Ndombele told Telefoot: ‘I’m a boy from the Paris region. Wearing the Paris jersey one day? Why not – but today I’m in Tottenham, and it’s going well.’

‘I spoke with Kylian about a possible coming to PSG. Two or three years in a row we discussed it.’

‘It didn’t happen and today at Tottenham it’s going well, but why not in the future?’

Ndombele is hoping his club form this season will earn him a call-up to the European Championship France squad.

He added: ‘Of course I miss the France team. As a competitor, we want to be one of the best.

‘The European Championship remains a goal in the back of my mind. If I do well at club level, why not be called up?’

Last summer, Barcelona showed interested in Ndombele, and he himself admitted he wanted to leave after just one season with Spurs. But Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy stopped the move and eventually it turns out to be the right decision for both the club and the player.

Ndombele told: ‘It is true that at a certain moment I wanted to leave, I didn’t feel in the right place. I told them I wanted out. They didn’t want me to go.’

Jose Mourinho’s side have been impressive at the first of this season. They hammered Manchester united by 6-1. they appeared to be serious title contenders this season. But after two consecutive defeats, Spurs now find themselves in sixth place. They will look at least win a Champions League berth even if they fail to challenge for the Premier League title.
