Tammy Abraham and Alexis Saelemaekers have swapped clubs as part of a loan exchange between AS Roma and AC Milan. The two forwards will be moving in the opposite direction, and will spend the season there on a dry loan.
The former Chelsea striker has been officially announced as a new signing for the season, and reunites with former teammates Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus Cheek and Fikayo Tomori in Milano.

With Artem Dovbyk joining the club, Abraham was likely to get less playing time at Roma. And the transfer to Milan could be a smart decision given the recent injury to Alvaro Morata just days after signing for the Rossoneri.
On the other hand, Saelemaekers could revive his career under Daniele De Rossi at Roma. The Belgian winger has had a stop-start tenure at Milan since joining them from Anderlecht in 2020. It will be interesting to see how the 25-year-old fits in at the Italian capital, given the new style of play this season.
