Netflix just dropped fresh stills from its upcoming K-drama **“Take Charge of My Heart,”** and the chemistry between leads Chae Soo Bin and Kim Young Kwang is already sparking buzz ahead of its October 9 premiere. Adapted from the popular web novel of the same name, this romantic comedy blends sci-fi quirk with slow-burn romance — and a growing cast of rivals ready to complicate things.

### The Premise: A Heart That Needs Recharging

Kim Young Kwang plays **Baek Ho Rang**, a composed man whose artificial heart runs on battery power. When it starts running low, the only person who can recharge him is **Na Bo Bae** (Chae Soo Bin), a woman with the rare ability to generate electricity. Ironically, he’s the only person she can touch without shocking. Their solution? A practical **three-month “charging contract”** that predictably turns into something more, as the pair grows closer through skin-to-skin necessity — think checked heart rates and stolen hand-holds.

This blend of body-swap-adjacent fantasy and romance recalls classic tropes explored in [Korean drama](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_drama) storytelling, where fated, high-concept connections drive emotional stakes.

| Choi Do Yoon | Jeong Jae Kwang | Baek Ho Rang’s provocative cousin |
| Han Seol Hee | Shin Do Hyun | Ambitious exec eyeing Baek Ho Rang |
| Na Ji Hye | Gong Min Jung | Na Bo Bae’s sister, ex-taekwondo champion |
