Julian Nagelsmann warns his players before the decider match against Manchester United

RB Leipzig will face Manchester United tonight in the UEFA Champions League’s group decider at home. RB Leipzig will qualify if they beat Manchester United today. Whereas United just needs a draw to qualify or they have to depend on Paris Saint-Germain’s result against Istanbul Basaksehir FK.

Manchester United thrashed RB Leipzig at Old Trafford by a convincing 5-0 win a few weeks back. But RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann is confident to win the tie tonight. He also warned his players that they might need to fight till the last minute of the game.

He said, “We are aware that if Manchester United are trailing they can still turn the match around. They have shown that in the last matches. We have to wait for the referee to end the match. We have to fight until the very end to get the three points against them.”

“I don’t know for which team it is easier – the team defeated 5-0 or that won 5-0. The result doesn’t such play such a big role. I think they will treat it as a fresh game.”

Julian Nagelsmann Julian Nagelsmann warns his players before the decider match against Manchester United

“We analyzed the match and showed my players how good they were in certain situations. We were better in the game but a little bit too afraid at the start. We can add a lot and improve, especially in the last third.”

“United defended well. We can’t say they played well, but they defended very well.”

“It’s complicated for United as well. Most of the group phase they were in the first place, and now if they lose they might not go to the knockout stage.”- Nagelsmann added.

There are some injury concerns in the Manchester United side. Though Luke Shaw is fit again to play against the German opposition. It will be a tough ask for Ole’s men as they will face a highly confident and determined RB Leipzig side.

Max Allegri admits he wants to work in the Premier League

Former Juventus manager Max Allegri revealed his desire to work in the Premier League. In an interview with the ‘Times’, he admitted his wish.

Max Allegri has been out of work for almost two years after he lost his job at Juventus. In the interview, he said, “I would like to experience the Premier League.”

“In Italy, I was in Milan for four years. Five years in Juventus. Now I expect (to work again) in Italy, but it is difficult, or in England.”

mikel arteta ole gunnar solskjaer wh3hdh815w1711s5xqg4d6z42 Max Allegri admits he wants to work in the Premier League

“For me, English football is improving now because there are a lot of foreign trainers. There are more tactics compared to ten years ago. England now is more sophisticated, and more tactical, but is also respecting the tradition of English football.”

“It’s a good balance of the spirit of English football and the new quality and new tactical approach of the new coaches.”

Max Allegri has won 6 Serie A titles as a manager, one with AC Milan and 5 with Juventus. He was also the ‘Serie A Manager of the Year’ 4 times.

As per reports, Allegri may replace Mikel Arteta at Arsenal. The Gunners are in a very bad patch from the start of the season. Arsenal is now 15th in the table with 13 points in the first 11 games. They also lost against Tottenham Hotspurs yesterday by 2-0.

Manchester United’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also on the red alert. But Manchester United are in a better condition arguably and Ed Woodward in a recent interview clearly said that they are keeping faith in Solskjaer.

  • Solakjaer wants his Manchester United team to play simple

Solakjaer wants his Manchester United team to play simple

Manchester United is still far away from hitting their top form. They have been struggling in the Premier League. Bruno Fernandes’ twice-taken penalty secured the Red Devils their second successive league win with a 1-0 victory over a stubborn West Brom last weekend.

The win over West Brom was surprisingly their first home victory in five league matches at Old Trafford so far this season. Solakjaer’s men would be happy to come away with 3 points and will be hoping to be on the rise.

Manchester United manager Solskjaer has been under the heat for some time now. He has been criticized for his tactics. The board has also been held responsible for yet another failed transfer window, though they signed Alex Telles and Cavani on deadline day.

Solskjaer felt that the international breaks were a distraction for his side and with no international breaks until March next year, his team can definitely improve.

Solskjaer said at his post-match press conference:“Now we’ll have three or four months together and it’s about staying together, sticking together, sticking to the way we want to play games and improve every time,”

“Defensively we’re getting there, definitely. We’re working hard, closing down, not conceding many chances, and we created enough chances to win this comfortably as well, but we need to be more clinical.”

“We’ve got plenty of quality but sometimes the easiest – or the most difficult thing – is to play simple.”

“Sometimes today, we wanted to over-complicate things. Yeah, we want players to seize moments of opportunity, but we need more flow, more rhythm, more passes, make the opposition move.”

“It could have been simpler. I know the players have been travelling away on international duty, and we just had this morning to prepare for this game.”

“Hopefully we can hit some form like we did towards the end of last season.”

Sir Alex Ferguson is still held as the best manager in Premier League history. The reason being his incredible managerial record and his talents at the helm to make the Red Devils one of the best clubs in the world during his time in charge.

The legendary manager stepped down from his position in 2013, after years and years of managing the club and giving it everything that he had to give.

However, the post-Fergie era has seen a sharp decline in United’s reputation across the world. With over £1 billion spent in transfers, here are the most successful managers after Sir Alex left.

    4. David Moyes: £69 million

Fellaini and Juan Mata were the only two players signed during David Moyes’ brief spell in charge of Manchester United. Filling in the shoes of the greatest manager in the history of the league was never going to be easy for Moyes, and the pressure seems to have shut the Scottish manager down during his stint at United.

    3. Louis Van Gaal: £300 million

Arguably the most prominent failure of the Van Gaal version of United was the signing of Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid. However, the heir to David Moyes’s berth as the man in charge did deliver Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial, who are the only two players still at the club. He was sacked despite delivering the FA Cup, in a rather hurtful fashion.

    2. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: £290 million

skysports ole gunnar solskjaer 4930373 All Manchester United managers in the post-Ferguson era ranked

The former United super-sub first took over as caretaker manager and has since been at the job permanently. Although he has not managed to deliver silverware in his two seasons in charge yet, Ole has managed to sign quality players in the form of Bruno Fernandes, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Donny Van de Beek, who seems set to be a big part of the manager’s plan in the season to come.

    1. Jose Mourinho: £360 million

jose mourinho All Manchester United managers in the post-Ferguson era ranked

The Special One’s tenure at the Theatre of Dreams is often looked down upon, despite the Portuguese manager delivering the League Cup, as well as the Europa League whilst managing to secure Champions League football as well. The downfall of Mourinho’s stint at United was his failure to get the best out of big-money signings Lukaku, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and most notably, Alexis Sanchez.

  • Woodward backs Solskajer while publishing the recent revenue report of Manchester United

Woodward backs Solskajer while publishing the recent revenue report of Manchester United

Manchester United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has faced some extreme criticism in the last few days. Some fans and some pundits also think that Ole is not the right person to be the manager of Manchester United. He was always criticized for his team’s performance in some of the important matches.

Lack of consistency, lack of intent, and some other problems are disturbing the rhythm of Manchester United in the last few months. Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already faced so many questions about his side’s inconsistency. Manchester United has only collected 10 points from their first 7 Premier League matches and is now 12th in the table. They are yet to win a game at Old Trafford this season in Premier League.

It was also rumored that he can be replaced soon and the Manchester United board has already contacted former Tottenham Hotspur’s manager Mauricio Pochettino as the replacement. But Manchester United chief Ed Woodward always backed his manager.

Today, Woodward said, “On the pitch, while there is still hard work ahead to achieve greater consistency, we remain absolutely committed to the positive path we are on under Ole as the team continues to develop.”

1144231996.jpg.0 Woodward backs Solskajer while publishing the recent revenue report of Manchester United

Woodward also published their revenue accidentally one day prior to the date.  There is a 19.5% drop in revenue from the same quarter last year which is equal to almost £109m because of closed-door matches. There was also a decrease in commercial revenues of 25.7% which is almost about £59.7m.

Woodward said, “While the Covid-19 pandemic continues to cause significant disruption, we are optimistic that the recovery and normalization phase is gradually coming into view.”

“The club’s resilience and our strong commercial business continue to provide a solid foundation and gives us confidence in our long-term outlook beyond the pandemic, both on and off the pitch.”

  • Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reconsidering Sergio Romero as Dean Henderson wants a January loan

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reconsidering Sergio Romero as Dean Henderson wants a January loan

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is considering a loan move in January. The English goalkeeper has featured only in 3 games this season, two games in Carabao Cup, and one in UEFA Champions League. After a fantastic season with Sheffield United in Premier League last season, he is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League this season.

As per reports, England boss Garry Southgate has told him that he must get more game time to be considered as England’s goalkeeper in the upcoming Euro which is postponed until next year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dean Henderson is eyeing his place in England’s Euro squad. So, he may ask his club for a loan move in January till the end of the season.

1268747726.jpg.0 Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reconsidering Sergio Romero as Dean Henderson wants a January loan

If Dean Henderson finally leaves the club in January on a loan then a situation will arise where Manchester United will need to rely on Sergio Romero as their backup goalkeeper again. The relation between the club and the Argentinian goalkeeper has not been good in the last couple of months. Sergio Romero was not even included in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League squad.

romero Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reconsidering Sergio Romero as Dean Henderson wants a January loan

Last month Sergio Romero’s wife in her Twitter handle stated, “Sergio Romero worked hard for his club. The last trophy they won, they lifted it with him. He helped the team reach 4 finals and semi-finals and then he was left on the bench only to lose them all. It is time for them to return the opportunity and let him go. RESPECT FOR ONCE!!!!”

Now the question will be, how much committed Romero will be if he gets back his chance in the squad, after not being treated well by Manchester United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explains the reason behind Mason Greenwood’s absence

Mason Greenwood was absent on Saturday against Everton at Goodison Park. He was also on the bench against İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explained to BT Sports that he ‘wasn’t feeling well last night.’

“He looked well in training, he looked OK. But then he reported he was not well and can’t travel.”- Solskjaer added which increases more doubt.

Mason Greenwood was criticized for his discipline in the last couple of months. Being a great talent it is surely a drawback for him. It all started when he was called for the national team by Gary Southgate. He and Manchester City youngster Phil Foden was expelled from the England squad as they brought women to their hotel room, in violation of COVID rules.

This was the second time this season when Mason Greenwood was absent mysteriously. It happened after the last international break. Greenwood was absent in two back-to-back games against Newcastle United in the Premier League and Paris Saint-Germain in UEFA Champions League. That time Solskjaer explained, ‘I can’t declare medical stuff can I? We hope it’s just a niggle and we don’t want to take any chances with him and hopefully, at the weekend it’ll be fine again.’

It was rumoured that Greenwood and Brandon Williams were partying until late at night before the Newcastle game and it was taken disciplinary action against him for constantly coming late in training. Though the United boss told that it was completely false news.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms 3 injury issues after the Everton game

Manchester United are back to the winning track after the 3-1 victory at Goodison Park against Everton. Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was delighted with his team’s response after a week of criticism.

But he was also worried about some of his players’ injuries. He reported 3 injuries after yesterday’s match. Luke Shaw was withdrawn and replaced by Axel Tuanzebe following a hamstring injury.

“Yes. Victor’s (Lindelof) back, Marcus’s (Rashford) shoulder, Luke Shaw’s hamstring. That’s three I can remember from the top of my head. I hope everyone else is okay. David didn’t play [in midweek] but he had a groin problem before the game.”- he said about the injury issues of his team.

Solskjaer was also annoyed with the schedule of the match. Manchester United was forced to play a lunchtime kick-off on Saturday after a vital UEFA Champions League game on Wednesday night in Turkey. This is a very serious issue considering the recovery time for players.

1 Luke Shaw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms 3 injury issues after the Everton game

“Give us another 24 hours or 26, 28 hours to recover and you’ll get a better game from us.”- the United boss complained.

“The first half was top. Get on the ball, play and the goals we scored were fantastic.”

“In the second half they went into survival mode because they’re tired, they’re on their knees but fair play to them. You could see, of course, Scott, Fred, Victor didn’t play [on Wednesday], Juan didn’t play the full game in Turkey. You could see they’ve got legs but the others were down on their knees.”-he added.

Manchester United’s next match is against West Bromwich Albion after the international break. Hopefully, his players will fit enough.

Manchester United eyeing Pochettino as Solakjaer’s heir

Despite managing to get wins over PSG and Leipzig in the Champions League, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has some serious pressure on his shoulders once more, especially following last night’s defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir away from home.

A lack of leadership in the team has been pointed out by pundits and fans time and time again. Furthermore, it now seems that the Norwegian’s tactics are not working out either.

United played a diamond midfield with two frontmen leading the line and were punished for their mistakes dearly by the opposition.

Moving away from their performances in Europe, United have been struggling to make a mark in the Premier League. The club has not won a single game at Old Trafford and endured a 6-1 loss against Spurs at home as well.

The board, apparently, are deciding to make a change in manager soon. The fate of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future as manager of his former playing club rests on the heavyweight clash against Everton this matchday.

Their recent form sends them into the match as underdogs despite historically being one of the most decorated teams in the country.

Pochettino Manchester United eyeing Pochettino as Solakjaer's heir

The club’s representatives have been in contact with Mauricio Pochettino, who recently took the opportunity to express how much he missed having a team to coach.

The former Spurs coach will be a great man to lead the Manchester based team given his work in London.

United are currently 15th in the Premier League and Champions League qualification no doubt looks difficult for the boys in red this season, especially if they don’t manage to run it around.

The Argentinian is without a doubt one of the best coaches out there who does not already have a club to prepare. Should the former Spurs manager find himself managing the Red Devils soon, United vs Spurs matches will have an extra level of spiciness to them.

  • Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a higher win percentage than Jurgen Klopp in the first 100 games

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a higher win percentage than Jurgen Klopp in the first 100 games

Manchester United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer always faced a problem of inconsistency. But some fans and some pundits also think that Ole is not the right person to be the manager of Manchester United. He has also been criticized for his team’s performance in some important matches.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has completed his 100th game as a manager last Sunday against Arsenal, in which they lost 1-0.

GettyImages 1182282614 Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a higher win percentage than Jurgen Klopp in the first 100 games

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows that Manchester United is lacking consistency. “We know there’s a reason behind big squads in football. You want to perform time and time again but it’s not possible. With the highs of the PSG game, it was a little bit okay against Chelsea and we were very good against Leipzig. We’re down again today and it’s the consistency. That is the number of players we’ve got and, today, we didn’t get the response we hoped for.”, Ole said after the Arsenal game.

But interestingly he has a better record than Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as compared to the first 100 games in charge. A report by Football 365 showed that Ole has a higher winning percentage than Klopp.

    Played: Solskjaer: 100  Klopp: 100
    Won: 56 – 50
    Drawn: 20 – 29
    Lost: 24 – 21
    Goals scored: 186 – 182
    Goals conceded: 104 – 108
    Points (all comps): 188 – 179
    PPG (all comps): 1.88 – 1.79
    Premier League points: 113 – 125
    Premier League PPG: 1.74 – 1.81
    Overall win percentage: 56% – 50%

The figure shows Ole has won 56% of his first 100 games as compared to Klopp’s 50%. This proves Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been going a decent job at Manchester United

Klopp was given the time to transform Liverpool into an unbeatable force. Transformation takes time. Manchester United finished third in the league last season and was in the top 4 in all the cup competitions. They even beat Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig in UEFA Champions League this season. Ole should definitely be given some more time to prove his plans to take the club to new heights.
