Messi reveals the difference between MSN and MNM

Lionel Messi joined PSG this summer as a free agent from Barcelona. The Argentinian has had a slow start to life in France and is currently playing alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

The forward previously starred with Neymar as part of the famous MSN trio at Barcelona, which also included Luis Suarez. Messi and Neymar have since been reunited, but the results have not quite been as good as they hoped it would be.

In a recent interview, Messi spoke about the biggest difference between the current trio at PSG and the one that was held in such high regard at Barcelona.

Messi meets Mbappe; French star welcomes the Argentine to Paris

“Age is the difference! We were young when we started playing with Ney,” Messi replied when asked by France Football in comments carried by Diario AS. “Today the young man is Kylian. Luis and Kylian are very different players. Luis is a pure nine, an efficient forward in the area who’s used to scoring many goals. Kylian likes to touch the ball more. He’s a very powerful and fast player who kills you if you give him space, and also scores a lot. They’re two spectacular players, but with very different qualities.”

Mbappe is currently 22, while Neymar is in his physical prime and Messi is in his mid-30s. Mbappe has been converted into a striker after he started out as a winger, and the point singled out by Messi is the main difference between MSN and MNM.

  • Most expensive XI in the world in 2021

Most expensive XI in the world in 2021

The transfer market of a player reflects the amount of money that clubs across the world would be willing to pay for their services. The most valuable XI is without the likes of Messi and Ronaldo this time around. However, the lineup fielded is strong enough to possibly win the Champions League on their own this season.

    Here are the players:

GK – Jan Oblak: €70 million

Oblak has been the reason behind Atletico Madrid’s success over the last few years. As a result, he is the most valued keeper in the world ahead of Thibaut Courtois and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

    RB – Trent Alexander-Arnold: €75 million

The competition between Hakimi and Alexander-Arnold is stiff if you only consider their abilities on the pitch. However, the Liverpool defender is the undisputed choice when it comes to the higher market value.

    CB – Marquinhos: €75 million

The PSG captain has established himself as one of the best in recent years, taking the Parisians to their first Champions League final in history, and now captaining the likes of Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Gigi Donnarumma, Neymar and Mbappe.

CB – Ruben Dias: €75 million

In only one season at Manchester City, the Portuguese defender has established himself as one of the best in the Premier League. The 23-year-old helped City reclaim the league title and also guided them to their first Champions League final against Chelsea.

LB – Alphonso Davies: €70 million

The Canadian has been converted into a left-back from a winger during his time in his home country. His pace and skill on the ball establish him as the most expensive left-back in the world ahead of Andy Robertson, Raphael Guerreiro and Theo Hernandez.

CM – Bruno Fernandes: €90 million

Since arriving at Manchester United, the Portuguese midfielder has been the focal point of the attack. His contributions helped United qualify for the Champions League last season, and he is already being linked with a new contract at Old Trafford.

CM – Kevin De Bruyne: €100 million

The Manchester City star has bagged two PFA Player of the Year awards in succession and has shown time and time again why he is a versatile attacking threat for the team. As a result, he is the most expensive midfielder in the world.

RM – Mohamed Salah: €100 million

The Egyptian wide man recently hit the 100-goal mark in the Premier League and has won the Golden Boot on two separate occasions in England. At 29 years of age, Salah is in his prime and is rightfully valued at €100 million on the market.

    LM – Neymar: €100 million

The Brazilian winger recently signed an extension with PSG that will keep him in the French capital for the next few years. He is the most expensive transfer in the history of the sport, with PSG paying €222 million to Barcelona for his services.

ST – Kylian Mbappe: €160 million

Mbappe is the only teenager to score in a World Cup final after the legendary Pele and has already established himself as a top performer for PSG. Real Madrid bid €200 million for him this summer, but their offer was rejected by the French club. He will be able to leave as a free agent next year if he doesn’t renew his deal.

ST – Erling Haaland: €130 million

The Borussia Dortmund striker finished as the top scorer in the Champions League last year and has taken the footballing world by storm since moving to the Westfalenstadion. Haaland has scored 66 goals in as many appearances for Dortmund across all competitions and is gunning for the top scorer award on all fronts as well.

  • Neymar’s PSG Contract Includes an Ethical Clause Worth Over £5 Million Per Year

Neymar’s PSG Contract Includes an Ethical Clause Worth Over £5 Million Per Year

Neymar, a Brazilian footballer, is said to earn over £5 million a year if he avoids any ‘political or religious propaganda’ that could harm Paris Saint-image. Germain’s

The enormous sums of money that Neymar has amassed The 29-year-PSG old’s contract also has an ‘ethical provision’ that prohibits him from making any ‘negative public statements about the club’ and requires him to display ‘exemplary behavior.’ According to an inquiry by the Spanish news site El Mundo, Neymar’s contract requires him to be “courteous, prompt, pleasant, and available to supporters.”

If there are no issues, Neymar is said to earn an extra £461,947 gross every month – almost £5.5 million a year – on top of his weekly earnings of £490,000-a-week at the Qatari-owned team.

The ‘ethical clause’ states that Neymar, who is a devout Christian, must avoid any ‘political or religious propaganda that could harm the club’s image and unity.’

He must refrain from making any unfavorable public statements regarding the club, its employees, or its supporters, with PSG requesting “exemplary behavior, especially on the pitch.” The forward must also arrive on time, be pleasant, and make himself accessible to meet PSG supporters when the club requests it.

Given that Neymar, who became the world’s most expensive footballer when he joined PSG from Barcelona for £198 million in 2017, has made no secret of his Christian beliefs in the past, the religious element is surprising. ‘Life only makes sense when our highest objective is to serve Christ,’ he once observed.

He wore a headband that read “100% Jesus” during celebrations after Barcelona won the Champions League final in 2015. This arose when a donation from the local evangelical church supplied him and his Santos young squad with a new surface to play on.

He grew up attending the Peniel Baptist church in Sao Paulo, and the church’s main pastor, Newton Lobato, has previously revealed that Neymar donates roughly £15,000 to the church every year. After representing Brazil at the Copa America in the summer, Neymar has only played one match for PSG this season. Before the international, he played 66 minutes in their 2-0 win over Reims.

PSG’s next match is in the Champions League on Wednesday night when they travel to Belgian club Club Brugge.

  • Top 10 players most likely to win the Champions League Golden Boot in 2021-22

Top 10 players most likely to win the Champions League Golden Boot in 2021-22

The new Champions League season is already up and running, and the race to be recognised as the top scorer has begun along with the race for the trophy. So, here are the top ten players most likely to finish with the highest number of goals in the competition.

    10. Sebastian Haller

The Ajax striker is currently leading the scoring charts in the Champions League, with four goals against Sporting CP in their opening match. He is now one of the players who could surprisingly finish at the top of the pile.

    9. Neymar

The Brazilian not only has to compete with other strikers in the competition, but also the likes of Lionel Messi and Mbappe in his own team. It won’t be very surprising if we see Neymar take on more of a playmaker role in the team than a finisher.

    8. Romelu Lukaku

The Chelsea forward has already opened his scoring tally for the Blues in the Champions League, netting the winner against Zenit. With the form he is showing, it won’t be too far away from Lukaku to try and win the top scorer award in the competition this year.

    7. Kylian Mbappe

Mbappe operates as a centre-forward in the lineup for PSG, and he is expected to be the one to get on the end of deliveries. So, it is more likely for the young Frenchman to be the top scorer in the competition than Neymar. Mbappe has also shown his brilliance against big teams in the past and he will surely step up again.

    6. Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo is recognised as the best player in the history of the Champions League, and he has started scoring in the competition for Manchester United again. CR7’s goalscoring record can never be understated or counted out in the race for any top scorer award.

    5. Mohamed Salah

Salah has been Liverpool’s best player over the last year, and he has been scoring crucial goals regularly. As a result, the Egyptian kicks off the top five in the race for the Golden Boot in the Champions League.

    4. Karim Benzema

While Benzema is yet to score in the Champions League this season, he is Real Madrid’s star attacker. So, expecting the Frenchman to finish as the top scorer in the competition is surely an achievable feat if Real Madrid progress deep into the competition.

    3. Lionel Messi

Counting Messi out of a Golden Boot race has never worked in the past, and it won’t now either. The Argentinian is alongside the best-attacking trio in the world and is surely among the most likely to win the Golden Boot this year.

    2. Erling Haaland

Haaland finished as the top scorer in the Champions League last year, with 10 goals to his name. The Borussia Dortmund star has not stopped scoring since arriving at Dortmund, and he is very likely to finish as the top scorer in the competition again. The fact that he is only 21 doesn’t even make a difference at this point.

    1. Robert Lewandowski

Under Julian Nagelsmann, Bayern Munich have honed their attacking finesse and recently dispatched Barcelona 3-0. Lewandowski has already netted a brace in the first game, and after breaking Gerd Muller’s record of scoring 40 goals in one Bundesliga season last term, he could set another personal record in the Champions League this time.

  • Messi-Neymar-Mbappe not enough to get all 3 points for PSG against Brugge

Messi-Neymar-Mbappe not enough to get all 3 points for PSG against Brugge

PSG visited Belgium to open their Champions League campaign last night, and to the delight of fans, we got our first glimpse of the Messi-Mbappe-Neymar front three starting the game.

The match ultimately ended up in a 1-1 draw, with both goals coming in the first half itself. PSG enjoyed the majority of possession, with the stats showing 63% in favour of the Parisians. But, despite having much more time on the ball, they were unable to get the job done away from home.

Brugge had more shots on target, and were on the front foot much more often than their opponents on the night. They had 16 efforts in total, 7 of which were on target. In contrast, PSG had 4 of 9 shots on target despite having the ball much more than the other team.

Ander Herrera’s goal opened the scoring for PSG 15 minutes into the game, but it was neutralised shortly after by Hans Vanakem before the half-hour mark. Kylian Mbappe struggled to produce his best after being tackled around the halfway line. The Frenchman required treatment, and was replaced 5 minutes into the second half by Mauro Icardi.

Noa Lang was one of the standout performers for Club Brugge, and he tested Keylor Navas several times throughout the match. His brilliant footwork also created a problem for the PSG defense throughout the game. Messi and Icardi had chances to take the lead in the later stages of the game, but were denied by Brugge, who played brilliantly to keep the scores level. ,

REVEALED: Neymar’s secret clause in his PSG contract

In 2017, Paris Saint-Germain signed Neymar from Barcelona for an outrageous €222 million that changed the transfer market forever. To this day, the Brazilian’s signing is the most expensive transfer to take place in the history of the sport.

As reported by El Mundo, the total money spent on Neymar by PSG is an eye-watering €489,228,117. He is currently in his fifth season at the club.

El Mundo has now also revealed a special clause in the Brazilian’s contract. Neymar earns a sum of €541,680 per month for being ‘courteous, punctual, friendly, and available to fans. That same clause prohibits him from publicly criticising the club’s tactical setup.’

Neymar’s contract requires him to ‘have the courtesy to greet fans before and after each game’, and says that he must avoid ‘any adverse comment about the team’s tactical choices’ and that he must avoid ‘negative public comments about the club, those who wort there and those who support him’.

Neymar has now been reunited with his former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi. PSG’s attacking trio of Messi-Neymar-Mbappe is one of the best on paper. PSG hope to finally win the Champions League trophy this season.

El Mundo reveals the total amount of money PSG paid for Neymar

In 2017, Paris Saint-Germain signed Neymar for an outrageous €222 million that changed the transfer market forever. To this day, the Brazilian’s signing is the most expensive transfer to take place in the history of the sport.

And now, according to El Mundo, the total amount of money spent by the French club to bring and keep Neymar has been revealed. In addition to the €222 million transfer fee, his salary is worth €43,334,400 over five seasons. Now that he is going to stay at the club for the sixth season, the winger’s expected payment is around €50,556,117.

The total money spent, as a result, is an eye-watering €489,228,117. The initial contract that Neymar signed had the option to be extended until 2023, but the player negotiated a new deal with PSG in May 2021, and he now has a deal running until 2025.

Since joining PSG, Neymar has made 117 appearances for the club and has scored 87 goals for them while providing 52 assists. He has earned 111 caps for Brazil and has scored 68 goals for the national team. As a result, he is on his way to becoming the highest goalscorer ever for his country, surpassing Pele.

With the arrival of Lionel Messi at PSG, the Barcelona partnership has been reestablished, with Kylian Mbappe expected to operate through the centre. Considering that Lionel Messi is the best-paid player in the world, Neymar is probably not the highest earner in the squad anymore either.

  • International XI with the most number of goals in each position

International XI with the most number of goals in each position

With Cristiano Ronaldo reaching the 111 goal mark in international football, here is the complete lineup of players with the most number of goals for their country:

GK | Jose Luis Chilavert (Paraguay)

    Games: 74

    Goals: 8

The Paraguayan shot-stopper spent the majority of his club career in South America and scored four goals in Paraguay’s World Cup Qualification in 2002.

    RB | Darijo Srna (Croatia)

    Games: 134

    Goals: 22

In his prime, Srna was a remarkable footballer and scored one goal every six games on average, an impressive return for a defender.

    CB | Fernando Hierro (Spain)

    Games: 89

    Goals: 29

Hierro goes down as one of the best centre-backs to this day, and he scored five goals in six games in 1999 for the country, ranking him as one of the highest-scoring defenders.

    CB | Sergio Ramos (Spain)

    Games: 180

    Goals: 23

The former Real Madrid skipper is no doubt the best defender of his generation and has won every major trophy there is to win in football.

    LB | Dusit Chalermsan (Thailand)

    Games: 96

    Goals: 14

The talented Thai defender helped his nation to a fourth-place finish at both the 1998 and 2002 Asian Games.

    CDM | Karim Bagheri (Iran)

    Games: 87

    Goals: 50

Bagheri played as a defensive midfielder and scored seven goals in one game against the Maldives. That year, he finished with 20 goals to his name, a remarkable return for a midfielder.

    RM | Lionel Messi (Argentina)

    Games: 151

    Goals: 76

Messi recently won the Copa America with Argentina, which was his first trophy for the country. The captain of the national team is expected to add more goals to his tally in the months to come.

    LM | Neymar (Brazil)

    Games: 111

    Goals: 68

Neymar is now just nine goals away from equalling Pele’s record of 77 in Brazil’s colours. Given that he’s still just 29, the PSG man should surpass that number with ease.

    CAM | Tim Cahill (Australia)

    Games: 108

    Goals: 50

Cahill scored every year between 2004 and 2018. Scoring nine goals in 2015, Cahill is still the greatest footballer to ever come out of Australia.

    ST | Ali Daei (Iran)

    Games: 149

    Goals: 109

The previous holder of the top scorer award, Daei scored 20+ goals for Iran in two separate years and also won a gold medal at the 1998 Asian Games.

    ST | Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)

    Games: 180

    Goals: 111

Although it took him more games, CR7 is not only the highest goalscorer in international football but also the most capped player. His tally is only expected to grow in the years to come, with the Man Utd star showing no signs of slowing down.

    5. Kylian Mbappe – €145m

    4. Alvaro Morata – €189m

Despite all the criticism launched at the Spaniard, Morata is among the most expensive players in the history of football. He is currently on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid and could make another transfer from the Rojiblancos soon.

    3. Cristiano Ronaldo – €228m

    2. Neymar – €310m

Barcelona paid Brazilian club Santos €88 million to bring him over to Camp Nou. After spending several years with the Blaugrana and establishing an iconic partnership with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, he was signed by PSG for €222 million in the most expensive transfer in the history of the sport yet.
