India had beaten Bangladesh by five runs by the DLA method. The rain affected the Super 12 clash in Adelaide this Wednesday. The men in blue have climbed the top of the Group 2 table. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first. India had a slow startand Indian skipper Rohit Sharma got out scoring just 2 runs. KL Rahul couldn’t score good runs in the first three games but in this one, he musted a half-century. Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 64 runs off 44 deliveries that helped India score 184/6 in 20 overs. In the second over, Bangladesh had a solid start as Litton Shah led the run chase. He smashed 50 runs in 21 deliveries. However, the rain stopped the game that reduced the target to 151 runs in 16 overs. The Bangladesh team started losing wickets in a hurry. Litton Das got dismissed at 60 runs as soon as the game resumed. Mohammad Shami gave India the second breakthrough, and Arshdeep Singh dismissed two batters in one over, In the very next over, Hardik Pandya scalped two wickets. In the last over, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was in a dilemma on whom to give an opportunity, Shami or Arshdeep Singh. The latter one got that opportunity and he didn’t disappoint.
Virat Kohli left Mahela Jayawardene behind to become the highest scorer with the most runs in T20 World Cup history, which is 1016 runs in 31 matches. Suryakumar Yadav became ICC’s no.1 batter after this match, scored 30 against Bangladesh.
