## Who Is Soon Rok — And Why Is He So Intriguing?

That contrast alone is irresistible. A man who looks gentle but pulls absolutely no punches? *Yumi’s Cells* fans know exactly how chaotic that energy is going to be for Kim Go Eun’s lovable protagonist.

At work, the perfectionist Soon Rok is the epitome of polished professionalism — but he’s actually a total homebody who is only truly himself when relaxed at home, with his cells operating in low-power mode whenever he steps outside.

The “on-off” duality here is pure K-drama gold — and Kim Jae Won clearly understood the assignment.

## What Kim Jae Won Said About the Role

“Because I was a fan of the original webtoon and also the drama adaptation, I was so excited to be part of Season 3,” said Kim Jae Won. “I fell in love with the unique way this drama makes your heart flutter, as well as the unexpected duality of Soon Rok’s ‘on-off’ charms.” [soompi](https://www.soompi.com/article/1828572wpp/yumis-cells-3-star-kim-jae-won-dishes-on-his-love-hate-romance-with-kim-go-eun)

He added that *Yumi’s Cells* is a drama where viewers become the cells as they follow along with Yumi’s emotions — and that many unexpected incidents will unfold as Yumi meets Soon Rok this season.

This is exactly the kind of casting that gets fans genuinely invested before a single episode airs.
