Superman 1978 Plot, Cast, and Release Date
DC’s one of popular superhero character Superman has got a brand-new trailer, Superman 1978. The performance of the late Christopher Reeve as the Last Son of Krypton is going to fly again in a modern trailer for Superman: The Movie from DC Studios.
On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of Superman, DC Studios has dropped a brand new trailer that will take the fans once again to those days, and reimagine 1978’s Superman: The Movie as a modern-day blockbuster. The new trailer starts with Lois Lane’s introduction to Clark Kent followed by scenes of Superman rescuing Lois, at the first meeting of the heroes along with Lex Luthor, and Superman encountering kryptonite for the first time. The new trailer concludes with the Man of Steel flying over Earth as John Williams’ theme for the movie plays. “You’ll believe a man can fly once again,” DC Studios’ YouTube caption read. “We hope this inspires you to rewatch for #SupermanAnniversary.”
The show has been Created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman debuted in 1938’s Action Comics #1, published by DC Comics. Reeve first appeared in live-action as the Man of Steel in the 1978 film but continued to reprise the role for three additional sequels: Superman II (1980), Superman III (1983), and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987). Reeve died in 2004 at the age of 52.
Superman 1978: Expectations
At the time when Superman was launched in the Media, television shows, video games, and so on, his next modern film adaptation will be Superman: Legacy, to be written and directed by DC Studios’ co-CEO James Gunn. Plot details for Legacy are currently under wraps, but DC Studios’ co-head Peter Safran confirmed in January that the film is “not an origin story” for the Man of Steel.
“It focuses on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing,” Safran said. He also touched on his and Gunn’s feelings about Superman’s core aspects, which they seek to translate into the movie. “Superman represents truth, justice, and the American way,” Safran added. “He is kindness in a world that thinks of kindness as old fashioned.”
In a previous interview, James Gunn stated, what audiences can expect regarding the tone of Legacy, noting that it won’t feel like Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy movies, which he also wrote and directed. “I learned so much from making [the Guardians of the Galaxy] movies,” Gunn said. “But it’s not like Superman is going to have exactly the same vibe as a Guardians movie. It’s actually quite different.” While the character has not yet been cast, the filmmaker confirmed that the DC Universe’s Superman will at least be “younger than in his forties.”
Superman 1978: Release Date
Superman: The Movie is going to stream on HBO Max and is available on Digital 4K UHD. The exact release date has not yet been confirmed.
