Sunrisers Hyderabad have been in a league of their own this season, impressing time and time again with the bat. In their dominant win over Lucknow Super Giants, the team set a new record for scoring the most runs in the PowerPlay in IPL history.
At the end of 6 overs, Hyderabad had scored 125 runs with Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma holding down the fort to give their team the best start ever to an innings.

Team | Score | Year |
SRH | 125/0 | 2024 |
KKR | 105/0 | 2017 |
CSK | 100/2 | 2014 |
CSK | 90/0 | 2015 |
KKR | 88/1 | 2024 |
SRH broke KKR’s record for the highest score in a powerplay, which they set in 2017. And this record might take some time to be broken, if at all.
Sharma could have scored one of the fastest half centuries in IPL history, but was dismissed for 46 in his 12th delivery by Kuldeep Yadav. Similarly, Travis Head missed out on his century because of Yadav too, with the spinner taking four wickets in the innings to keep Sunrisers Hyderabad from scoring 300.
However, Delhi Capitals were bowled out for 199, handing the visiting team a comfortable win and letting them climb up to second place in the IPL table.
