Sunil Chhetri has earned himself an incredible record with his penalty goal against Afghanistan. The Indian captain scored his 94th international goal from the spot to break the deadlock in Guwahati. And in the process, he scored on his 150th appearance for the Blue Tigers.
He has scored on his 25th, 50th, 75th, 100th and 125th appearances for the Indian national team. And with his goal against Afghanistan, he has ensured that the streak remains intact.

The penalty goal takes the 39-year-old one step closer to the unbelievable dream of scoring 100 international goals. Even though he turns 40 at the end of the season, he still has the same fire and stamina as someone more than a decade younger than him.
And his leadership has also been a key component in helping make the new generation of Indian footballers a cohesive unit.
