Tottenham have reached an agreement with Ajax for the signing of Steven Bergwijn. The transfer is worth €30 million, which is the fee that was always demanded for the winger. And now, a full agreement is in place between the two clubs for the player.

With the World Cup approaching later this year, the player will want regular game time to make it to the national team. And despite his remarkable performances after coming off the bench for Spurs, he will be moving back to his native Holland for more involvement in first team football.

Personal terms have never been an issue between the player and the Eredivisie champions. They were agreed all the way back in January, and have not been changed.

The Dutch side wanted Steven Bergwijn during the winter transfer window, but Tottenham did not agree to sell him. And now that they have signed replacements in both Richarlison and Ivan Perisic, they can afford to offload the pacey forward for a sizable fee.

The 24-year-old will be in Amsterdam today to complete his medical assessment ahead of the transfer. His arrival will be made official by Ajax once the medicals have been completed and the formalities have been taken care of.

Spurs have been doing great business in the ongoing transfer window, and have now made back some of the money they spent on players with the €30 million fee.
