Spurs winger Steven Bergwijn could end up leaving the club at the end of the season. There were talks with Ajax for a transfer during the winter transfer window, but no move went through back then.
Antonio Conte seems to have found a solid starting line-up at Tottenham Hotspur. Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski have all seemingly sealed their spot in the starting eleven. With Bergwijn struggling for game time, he could still push for a move in the summer.
Steven Bergwijn still considering Tottenham exit in the summer
Mostly coming off the bench, the Dutch international has made 22 appearances in the Premier League this season. He has scored three goals and provided just one assist during his time on the pitch.
The player spoke out about his lack of game time following Tottenham’s win against Leicester City: “A starting spot here? I don’t think so to be honest. It’s a complicated story for me. I don’t play much. Ajax could be an option for me, a return to The Netherlands could be an option for me. The World Cup is coming.”
Ajax could still end up pushing for a transfer in the summer. David Neres left the club in the January transfer window, and Steven Bergwijn was expected to be the replacement. They could not seal his transfer in the middle of the season. But, will now be joined by several other clubs who are also interested in signing him.
