Steam Deck

While a lot of fans were waiting for the official launch of Steam Deck in India which is now formally available via Amazon India but at a humongous pricing of ₹59,999 for the base variant whose original pricing is $399 in the US.

Steam Deck arrives in India but at a cost of ₹59,999

As we already know even though these hand-held consoles are Made in China so have import duties and so are the PS5s, but still, resemble the US pricing i.e. if the digital version of the PS5 costs $399 it will cost ₹39,990 while the regular PS5 which costs $499 costs ₹49,990 in India.

However, when it comes to Steam Deck, which is said to be imported from the USA has a higher tax and there’s no official retailer from Steam for the same. This is why Steam Deck which costs $399 in the US will cost you a whopping ₹59,999 in India, which is really disappointing for an emerging market like India.

Steam Deck

As we already know, Steam Deck is very unique on its own and is made by Valve, so desktop-level games which are available on Steam Store are optimized for this hand-held console. Now, having partnered with AMD to create Steam Deck’s custom APU, optimized for handheld gaming, the gaming experience is smoother.

It is a Zen 2 + RDNA 2 powerhouse, delivering more than enough performance to run the latest AAA games in a very efficient power envelope. You can simply play games you have on your Steam library on this console which you can take anywhere and play at your own pace any time you feel like.

Steam Deck

The Steam Deck was built for extended play sessions—whether you’re using thumbsticks or trackpads—with full-size controls positioned perfectly within your reach. The rear of the device is sculpted to comfortably fit a wide range of hand sizes, so, as you see even though the potential of this hand-held console is extreme but it’s high pricing in a market like India will prove decisive.

We hope Steam looks into this in future but if you have the money to spend and need a powerful hand-held console Steam Deck is a really good choice in our opinion.
