Star Sports aims to earn Rs 500 crores by broadcasting India vs England in five languages

International cricket is all set to make a return after 12 months on Indian soil with the England Tour of India. Live matches will be broadcasted by their official broadcaster Star Sports, who is ready with its huge plans of live Broadcasting and Live Streaming of the India vs England Series in India.

England’s Tour of India will be broadcasted live on the Star Sports network and will stream on Disney+ Hotstar across five languages including English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu. Star Network has already started with their promotional campaign named #IndiaTaiyarHai featuring actor Boman Irani for the promotion of the series.

Also, Star Network has been focusing on the advertising front and has taken some big targets for the upcoming series. According to the reports, Star Sports is targeting an astounding amount of Rs 500 Cr revenues from the advertising sales for India vs England, which includes 12 matches, having 4 Test matches, 5 T-20 International, 3 One Day Internationals of the series.

Star Sports earlier revealed that the series seems to have a very strong advertising interest from many categories including Auto, Education-Tech, E-Commerce, and also Financial Services.

“The India-England series marks the return of cricket to Indian soil after a long gap. The historic win at the Gabba has built anticipation for yet another crucial series with the world champion, England. We are seeing strong pent-up demand and positive sentiment amongst the marketers,” stated Anil Jayaraj, Executive Vice President, Star Sports

According to reports by media buyers, Star Network is selling 10-second T20 match advertisement slots for almost ₹7-8 lakh. So far, they have managed to sell 80% of the Ad inventory for ODIs and T20 matches along with 75% of Test match inventory.

Also, according to the reports, Star Sports is expecting bumper advertising as it’s been almost 12 months since India last played a match on their home soil as the England Tour of India is set to start from 5th February with the Test match in Chennai.
