## What’s Being Shot in Georgia?

Rajamouli and DOP PS Vinod had already scouted Georgia as a filming location a couple of months ago — so this wasn’t a last-minute call. According to reports, the Georgia schedule will focus heavily on action-packed sequences featuring Mahesh Babu’s character **Rudhra** and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s wheelchair-bound villain **Kumbha**. These are being described as “massive action sequences and pivotal scenes” — the kind that Rajamouli fans absolutely live for.

Priyanka Chopra, who plays **Mandakini** in the film, is unlikely to join this particular leg of the shoot as she’s currently busy with promotions for *The Bluff*.

## Why This Film Has Everyone Hooked

Varanasi isn’t just another big-budget film — it’s Rajamouli’s reunion with pan-India spectacle filmmaking after the global success of *RRR*. The film had a grand title reveal at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, and is targeting an April 7, 2027 theatrical release. According to reports, shoot is expected to wrap by June 2026, after which an extensive [VFX](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_effects) pipeline — similar to what powered *Baahubali* and *RRR* — will take over.
