The Swedish streaming service, Spotify, has been quite active in the few past months with the release and testing of its new features. And according to recent reports, the streaming service is back to test out its yet another new plan that it has cooked up.

Reports suggest that Spotify is currently testing a brand-new subscription tier for its users. The “Spotify Plus” named membership is designed by the streaming firm to be the most affordable way to access the most essential functions of music streaming. The company believes that this service will offer the best of the most to its subscribers.

The new subscription which is called the “Spotify Plus” will cost 99 cents and is a mix of the well-known Premium subscription and the free tier of Spotify. Similar to the free version of the service, Spotify Plus users will also have to live with advertisements being played between their favorite songs.

However the subscribers of the new tier service will be able to skip to an unlimited number of songs, and they can also play specific songs directly. When compare with the free service, these two features are not available on Spotify. Free users of the service have to resort to the shuffle playback function to listen to playlists and albums.

But, even after providing an unlimited number of skips and other certain features, it’s highly unlikely that the new Plus subscription will allow its users to download music as well as offline playback of music on their smartphones.

Spotify has also clearly and officially declared that there is no guarantee the new subscription tier will be made available to all customers in this same form. Remember the streaming service is just experimenting with different price points, along with experimental testing of mixing the features. The final product could potentially cost more than just 99 cents a month and will have a completely different set of features.
