A hit-and-run, a stranger who won’t take no for an answer, and a ghost only one of them can hear — tvN’s new occult rom-com wastes zero time setting its chaos in motion. The freshly released preview for *Spooky in Love*‘s premiere gives fans exactly the kind of bickering-strangers energy the genre thrives on.

## What Happens In The Preview

The clip opens with a furious Cheon Yeo Ri (Park Eun Bin) speeding off after a hit-and-run driver, only to be interrupted by Ma Gang Wook (Yang Se Jong), who climbs uninvited into her passenger seat demanding she “step on it.” When she understandably questions who he is, he cuts her off to insist he’s there to help. The two then realize they’ve crossed paths before, sparking instant, confused recognition. Yeo Ri firmly tells him to get out and chase the culprits himself, but Gang Wook explains he can’t drive since he’d been drinking, before flashing his prosecutor’s badge to prove he’s trustworthy. The scene ends on an eerie note: Yeo Ri hears a voice speak up in the car, even though the two of them are completely alone.

## The Premise

*Spooky in Love* remakes the 2011 supernatural romance film “Spellbound” into series form, following the chaotic dynamic between a hotel heiress who can see ghosts and a prosecutor terrified of them. It’s a setup built for both scares and slapstick, with the leads’ immediate history together promising more tension than a typical meet-cute.

## Why This Pairing Works

Park Eun Bin brings serious pedigree to the role — she received international recognition for her performance in Extraordinary Attorney Woo, for which she won the Grand Prize at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards. Paired with Yang Se Jong’s easy charm, the show’s blend of horror-tinged comedy and reluctant partnership looks primed to be one of this month’s more entertaining watches.
