According to recent rumors, Apple may very well call its upcoming 2022 iMac, the iMac Pro. This move might be to avoid confusion between its customers who wants to pick up the M1 iMac and the upcoming one.

The information comes from a leaker and it’s not just this information that comes from the leaker but we are also got some rumors about the specifications and ports selection of the upcoming ‘All in One. And by the information shared we can understand that the port selection of the new device is nothing short of impressive, that is only assuming that the rumors are indeed accurate.

According to @dylandkt on Twitter, the 2022 iMac Pro’s base model will arrive with 16GB of unified RAM which will be coupled with 512GB of PCIe NVMe storage, much similar to the base 2021 MacBook Pro. There are also rumors of there being dark bezels as well as a wide selection of ports including HDMI, an SD card reader, and USB-C that will likely support Thunderbolt 4.

According to the tipster, HDMI is arriving for the new Apple machines as a convenience factor since most of the TVs and external monitors have this port so it will be easier for users to hook up an external display and extend their existing workspace. Good thinking Apple.

We expect the new 2022 iMac Pro to sport an extremely thin display similar to the M1 iMac and for the size of the display, the tipster mentions Ross Young, who has claimed that the next iMac would have a 27-inch mini-LED screen. He also stated that the upcoming iMac will be featuring ProMotion support, which means that similar to the 2021 MacBook Pro models, the refresh rate can climb to 120Hz when needed.

Face ID was also supposedly tested, however, there is no confirmation as to whether the feature will be provided in the final product. Finally, coming to the pricing of the device, as you might expect from any Apple device, you have to pay top dollar for the product. The tipster claims that the price of the 2022 iMac Pro might start or cross the $2,000 mark.
