Sarr’s case has been backed up by club captain Jorge Casado, who told The Athletic that he had proof regarding the racist insults against the 23-year-old.
Sestao have also published a statement regarding the matter, condemning the racist abuse. Similar situations have taken place in the top flight too, with Vinicius Jr being the most common target for opposition fans.
It now seems that the Brazilian’s efforts have started a movement against racism on all fronts. And with action against the offenders, the division can reinforce its stance against such abuse.
