Spain has officially sacked their former Spanish head coach Julien Lopetegui.
The new man replacing him will be Fernando Hierro. The former Real Madrid captain and assistant manager Fernando Hierro has been appointed as Spanish Coach for World Cup 2018.
“We have decided to fire the national Coach” by Spanish Football Federation President, Luis Rubiales.
“What we have achieved in getting here is due in a great part to him and we must thank him and wish him luck.”
The new Spanish head coach Fernando Hierro, the former defender was the director of Spanish FA. He has also coached La Liga 123 side Real Oviedo in 2016-2017 but left as he failed to finish the league at the top of the table.
Hierro scored 29 goals for Spain in his 89 international appearances. He played for Real Oviedo, Real Madrid CF, and Bolton Wanderers.
He won La Liga 1989-90,1994-95,1996-97,2000-01,2002-03 ,Copa Del Ray 1992-93,Intercontinental Cup 1998,2002 and UEFA Super Cup 2002 for Real Madrid.
This stunning change can affect the team which is one of the favorites in winning the world cup in Russia.
The Spanish team will be facing Portugal on 15th June and will be facing Iran and Morocco in the upcoming group stage games.
