Sony starts inviting PS5 pre-orders

Sony is yet to reveal the price and launch date of the much anticipated PlayStation 5 but they have started inviting pre-orders. They are giving a chance to their users with ‘US-based address’ to pre-order and reserve a PS5 console as Sony claims there’s a limited quantity of PS5 available.

Sony wrote in their official pre-order page: “There will be a limited quantity of PS5 consoles available for pre-order, so we will be inviting some of our existing consumers to be one of the first to pre-order one from PlayStation.”

“Pre-order reservations will be taken on a first-come-first-serve basis, so once you get an invite via email, we encourage you to follow instructions and act fast.”

Sony has also opened a FAQ page for PS5 pre-order.

If you want to get selected for pre-ordering a PS5, you need to go the pre-order page and register with you PlayStation Online ID. Sony will send you an email if you get selected, which will be based on your previous interests and PlayStation activities.

Due to limited quantities and high demand, Sony will be limiting PS5 console pre-order reservations to 1 per PSN ID.

Each invitation is open for a limited time and quantities are limited per PSN ID per transaction:

  • 1 PS5 Console or 1 PS5 Digital Edition
  • 2 DualSense wireless controllers
  • 2 DualSense charging stations
  • 2 Pulse 3D wireless headsets
  • 2 Media remotes
  • 2 HD Cameras

PS5 console pre-order reservations will be first come first serve.

This PS5 pre-order invitation is strictly for users who want to ship to a US-based address. Any orders that contain a non-US based address will be cancelled.
