It’s a good day for cricket fans as the Legends league Cricket finalised Sony Sports Network as their Media rights partner. Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan was signed as its Brand Ambassador and Ravi Shastri as the league’s commissioner. The matches will be telecast LIVE by Sony that is going to start in January 2022 on SONY TEN ! and SONY TEN 3 channels. SONYLIV app will be LIVE Streaming the performances.
What is the League about?
The Cricket Legends will be representing India, Asia and the Rest of the World. The venue for the game is Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Muscat, Oman. The League will be bringing back the good old days when the Legends played cricket and revive the competition among the stars. It is expected that the League will have a potential reach of over 500 million cricket fans across the globe. the League will have its broadcast over Television and Live streaming through the Sony LIV app.

Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is the Ambassador and will be promoting the League, so it’s expected that the reach among the potential viewers from India is high. The League’s Commissioner is none other than India’s former Head Coach Ravi Shastri. Oman has previously hosted ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and it definitely comes across as a promising venue for the League.
The first edition of the League will have legendary former cricketers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia and England. There are three teams in total, India, Asia and the Rest of the World. England, among other cricket nations divided into 3 Teams representing India, Asia, and the Rest of the World. The League has already confirmed its players like Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi, Sanath Jayasuriya, Muttiah Muralitharan, Chaminda Vaas, Romesh Kaluwitharana, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Azhar Mahmood, Upul Tharanga, Misbahul-Haq, Mohammed Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Mohammed Yousuf, Umar Gul, Younis Khan and Asghar Afghan being a part of Asian Lions squad.
2022 is really going to be a great year for millennial cricket fanatics, who grew up watching these players on TV.
