Filming at a nail salon for a casual vlog, Freezia chatted with a friend about smartphone brands. After hearing that her friend’s boyfriend uses a Galaxy Fold, she said: “Honestly, I’d dislike it if my boyfriend used a Galaxy. My mom and dad use Galaxy phones, but they’re different from a boyfriend. Thinking about him taking pictures of me with that phone really annoys me.”

She continued: “The photo quality of Galaxy and iPhone is different. I don’t even remember ever touching a Galaxy. The only people I can allow to use one are my mom and dad.”

Translations spread across X within hours. Freezia ultimately had to remove the video from her YouTube channel following the backlash.

## Why Did It Hit So Hard?

Internet users pointed out the glaring irony: “Mind you, she’s Korean, and Samsung is her country’s own brand. Acting embarrassed to use it? That’s pure classism.” [Tell-Tale TV](https://telltaletv.com/2026/03/watson-season-2-episode-12-review-a-family-meal/) Samsung is South Korea’s most iconic tech company and a national source of immense pride globally — making Freezia’s dismissal land particularly harshly at home.

The backlash was also amplified because of history. Song Ji-a became a lightning rod for public frustration around wealth signalling, “fake rich” aesthetics, and inequality — and this latest incident reminded many of those same themes. As one commenter put it: “It is hilarious when you think about it. She judges people for using a Samsung Galaxy, but she is the exact same person who got caught showing off fake designer brands and had to make a national public apology.” [Tell-Tale TV](https://telltaletv.com/2026/03/watson-season-2-episode-12-review-a-family-meal/)
