With Apple’s A14 Bionic launch, the mobile processor manufacturers are on the edge of their seats to develop their products. Recently Qualcomm officially published the benchmark results of its Snapdragon 888, and we are certainly impressed by Snapdragon’s flagship SoC. The video posted on XDA confirms that the Snapdragon 888 scores around 740,000 points in AnTuTu V8. Earlier, Snapdragon 865 had managed to score 576,457 points.
Qualcomm’s new flagship gained as much as 28% performance improvement over its predecessor. However, in Geekbench 5 benchmark, the SoC only gained a maximum of 10% over the Snapdragon 865. But if you are eager to compare Qualcomm’s new flagship to Apple’s A14 Bionic, then hold your horses.
The benchmark systems like AnTuTu, Geekbench, and GFX Bench are not compiled identically for Android and iOS. As such, even the current performance of Snapdragon 888 is not its final performance and will most certainly improve for the final product.
Geekbench 5 database results show a reference to the ‘QUALCOMM Lahaina for arm64’ on Geekbench 5 OpenCL and Geekbench 4. On the benchmark platform, it is indicated that Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 865 have neck-and-neck performance. But still, the Snapdragon 888 has a 20% gain over Snapdragon 865. But it is not the final score of Qualcomm’s new flagship, and it will be interesting to see how much performance gains could the Snapdragon 888 will achieve until its launch date.
