The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022 is set to begin on the 28th of February. However, we will not be witnessing the launch of a lot of smartphones from the top brands. This is because most of them have already announced the models that are set to release in the last couple of days.
The major handsets that are set to officially launch at MWC are the HONOR Magic4 Series and Lenovo Y90. Apart from these devices, the remainder of them will launch in markets such as India and Europe. Realme is set to launch a device that will remain exclusive to China as well.
1. ASUS 8Z:
The ASUS Zenfone 8 or 8Z is finally set to arrive in India on the 28th of February after a long delay in its launch. This compact flagship Android device was unveiled originally in May 2021.
Some of the key specs of the device are a 5.9″ compact FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 888 chip with a dual-camera setup. The primary sensor is a 64MP one while the secondary sensor is a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. On the front, there is a 12MP selfie shooter.
For biometrics, there is an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio jack, a 4,000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.
ASUS will stream the launch event at 12 PM on its official YouTube channel.
2. POCO X4 Pro 5G & POCO M4 Pro:
POCO has been confirmed to launch the POCO X4 Pro 5G and the POCO M4 Pro on the 28th of February. The duo will be announced by the POCO global wing at 8 PM GMT+8.
The event will be followed by a conference by the Indian division of the brand for POCO M4 Pro at 7 PM IST. The event will be streamed on their official YouTube channels.
The upcoming POCO X4 Pro 5G and POCO M4 Pro have tweaked versions of the international Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 11S. Apart from some minor changes, these devices are also expected to be priced lower.
3. HONOR Magic4 Series:
HONOR has scheduled its launch on the February 28th MWC 2022 event. Over the days, the brand has been teasing the device and it has also confirmed that it will be debuting the HONOR Magic4 Series at this conference. The live stream is set to begin at 1 PM CET on the official YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter handles of the company.
Like its predecessor, the HONOR Magic4 Series is rumored to include three main models, the HONOR Magic4, HONOR Magic4 Pro, and HONOR Magic4 Pro+. All three models are set to offer high-end specs and they will carry premium price tags.
4. Realme GT2 Series:
The Realme GT Series consists of the realme GT2 and the Realme GT2 Pro will be announced globally on the 28th of February. The launch event is set to be streamed from 10 AM UTC+1 on the official Twitter and YouTube handles of the company.
In terms of features, the Realme GT2 and GT2 Pro will be similar to the ones that were released in China in January. The vanilla and Pro variants are rumored to be priced at 45,612 INR and 66,769 INR respectively.
Apart from these phones, realme has also confirmed that it will announce the world’s fastest smartphone charging technology at this conference. It could support 200W charging.
5. Lenovo Legion Y90:
The Lenovo Legion Y90, a gaming smartphone has been in the news for months. The company has recently stated that it will debut the handset in China on the 28th of February. It will be accompanied by a gaming tablet, the Legion Y700.
The conference can be streamed live on Weibo and the official handles of the company from 7 PM CST.
Lenovo is also expected to announce the Legion Y90 Phone 3 for global markets at MWC 2022. Unfortunately, it is unknown when this announcement will happen.
In terms of the Legion Y90’s specs, the device flaunts a 6.4″ E4 AMOLED display with a resolution of 2460 x 1080 pixels, a high refresh rate of 144Hz, DC dimming, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+. The device flaunts a 5,600mAh battery with 68W fast charging.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chip in 12GB+256GB, 16GB+256GB, 18GB+512GB configurations. It features a VC vapor chamber and a dual cooling fan system as well.
6. Realme V25:
The Realme V25 is set to launch in China on the 3rd of March. The conference for the handset will be live-streamed from 2 PM CST on Weibo and other video platforms.
As per reports, the upcoming Realme V25 is expected to be an improvised version of the Realme 9 Pro. It will have a 6.58″ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 695 chip, 64MP+2MP+2MP triple camera setup, a 16MP selfie shooter, and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The device runs on Android 12 OS-based realme UI 3.0.
