It comes with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic for smooth driving in the city. Mahindra XUV 3XO, on the other hand, will come with petrol and diesel engine options. It also houses a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with the lesser versions cranking out 108.49 bhp and 200 Nm of torque while their higher trims have a more powerful TGDi delivering up to almost 128.30 bhp and over 230 Nm of torque. The XUV 3XO’s 1.5-litre diesel engine generates 115.39 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, offering better torque, especially for diesel enthusiasts.

Expect premium features from the Skoda Kylaq such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, and cruise control. It also packs impressive safety features in the form of six airbags, electronic stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

The range-topping Mahindra XUV 3XO comes with a panoramic sunroof, a Harman Kardon audio system,  a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and Level 2 ADAS including adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. However, at the same time, it is also expected to be loaded with some more tech features such as a 360-degree camera, and safety tech which we miss in XUV 3XO.

The Skoda Kylaq price ranges from ₹7.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and above, placing the vehicle in a highly competitive space, among some future competitors of sub-compact SUVs. Details on the complete pricing will be available on 2nd December 2024, with podiums kicking off in January 2025. Prices for the Mahindra XUV 3XO start at ₹7.99 lakhs for the base petrol variant, ₹9.99 lakh for the base diesel variant, and peak at ₹15.49 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).

Both the Kylaq and XUV 3XO compete with popular models like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue. The Kylaq offers a fresh design and an attractive entry price, while the XUV 3XO stands out with its more engine choices and advanced safety technologies, appealing to a wider range of buyers.
