When it was reported that Sidharth Malhotra was closing in on a new Dharma film, the excitement was immediate — and completely understandable. Karan Johar is the man who launched Sidharth’s career with *Student of the Year* (2012), and the actor has appeared in a string of Dharma-associated films over the years including *Hasee Toh Phasee*, *Kapoor & Sons*, *Shershaah*, and *Yodha*. Each time, the collaboration has been commercially and creatively meaningful.

The new film, according to sources cited by Mid-Day, was first pitched to Sidharth last year. He responded positively, gave a verbal go-ahead at the time, and has since been reviewing the script before making a formal commitment. The project is now in its **final stages of conversation**, with filming expected to begin in Mumbai by **summer 2026**.

## Sharan Sharma — A Director Who Knows How to Draw Out Emotion

The choice of director is particularly exciting. Sharan Sharma has already collaborated with Sidharth — as well as with Dharma Productions — and has built a reputation for bringing grounded, emotionally resonant stories to screen. His sensitive directorial touch feels perfectly aligned with what is described as a complex relationship drama exploring nuanced interpersonal dynamics.

## What’s Sidharth Up To Right Now?

On the personal front, Sidharth and his wife Kiara Advani recently became parents to their first child — a baby girl named **Saraayah**. On the professional front, he is currently working on *Vvan* alongside Tamannaah Bhatia, and he was last seen opposite Janhvi Kapoor in a film from 2025.
