While we all love her as the “Rom-Com Queen,” she is about to send shivers down your spine with her upcoming suspense thriller, **“The Eyes”** (literal title). In a massive announcement on May 21, 2026, the production team dropped a bone-chilling teaser poster and confirmed the high-stakes plot that sees Shin Min-ah taking on her most challenging role yet—playing twin sisters with visual impairments!

## The Eyes Plot: A Race Against Darkness

In a race against her own fading sight, Seo-jin dives into a terrifying investigation to find the truth, only to realize that someone—or something—might be watching her from the shadows.

## Why “The Eyes” is a Must-Watch?

**1. A Masterclass in Dual Acting**
Shin Min-ah is set to showcase her range by playing two characters with the same face but completely different “auras.”[3](https://www.soompi.com/article/1842541wpp/shin-min-ah-transforms-into-twin-sisters-with-visual-impairments-in-new-thriller-film) Portraying the physical and emotional nuances of visual impairment while maintaining a high-tension thriller pace is no easy feat.

**2. A Remake of a Spanish Classic**
If the plot sounds familiar, that’s because the film is a South Korean remake of the acclaimed Spanish thriller [Julia’s Eyes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julia%27s_Eyes) (produced by Guillermo del Toro).[4](https://www.screendaily.com/news/k-movie-boards-the-eyes-korean-remake-of-spanish-thriller-julias-eyes-ahead-of-afm/5210661.article) Director **Yeom Ji-ho** (known for *Next Door*) is expected to put a unique, sensory-driven K-cinema twist on the story.

**3. Shin Min-ah’s Cinematic Comeback**
This marks Shin Min-ah’s first major big-screen release in three years and her first project following her high-profile wedding to **Kim Woo-bin** in December 2025.[2](https://sbsstar.net/article/N1008568746/shin-mina-returns-to-the-big-screen-in-june-thriller-the-eyes) Fans are eager to see how her matured acting style fits into the dark, psychological thriller genre.
