Sheffield United have decided to sack Paul Heckingbottom after their 5-0 loss to fellow relegation-battlers Burnley. The club is set to appoint their former manager, Chris Wilder, in charge of the club once again in hopes of avoiding the drop this year in spite of their poor start to the season.
The Blades currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League table, and only have one victory so far. They are one of the favourites to be relegated, and the arrival of Wilder might help turn things around since the season is not yet past the halfway mark.

The team has scored the least goals this season, with only eleven thus far. They have also conceded the most goals, with 39 put past them in 14 games.
Under Heckingbottom, the club suffered an 8-0 loss to Newcastle United while also conceding five goals against Arsenal. They are set to face Liverpool and Brentford in their upcoming games, which could add to the misery.
United have become the first Premier League club to sack a manager this season, which comes after 14 games. Usually, the managerial merry-go-round starts much earlier in the season but this time around, things have happened later than usual.
Sheffield United are expected to announce the return of Chris Wilder in the coming days, once they have completed the formalities related to his appointment.
