Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Tottenham for the signing of Sergio Reguilon on a loan deal. The left-back will be the replacement for Renan Lodi, who joined Nottingham Forest on loan recently.

The deal agreed between the two clubs is a straight loan with no option to make it permanent. As a result, he will be returning to London in 2023 when the loan spell expires.

Renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has given the transfer the here we go signal. The left-back is expected to be in Madrid today to complete his medical and the formalities related to the transfer. So, his move will be made official very soon.

Sergio Reguilon set to join the likes of Alvaro Morata and Marcos Llorente, as players who have featured for both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.

Antonio Conte had left out the Spaniard from the squad ahead of their pre-season tour. He has preferred Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon as the better left wing-backs in the system. As a result, it would have been very difficult for him to get minutes if he stayed.

Alongside Giovanni Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Winks, Spurs have been offloading fringe players to trim their wage bill. With their current position, they are poised to be one of the top teams this season, and will be hopeful of achieving a Champions League finish in the end.
