Sergio Ramos has been one of the mainstays of Real Madrid in the last few years. He has been captain fantastic with leading the team from the front. His current contract with the Spanish giants ends this summer, so there have been many speculations surrounding him.
The Real Madrid captain has talked about many things, including his contract situation at Madrid. Among all these things, he was also asked about who he would sign for Real Madrid between Mbappe and Haaland.
Ramos told Ibai Llanos on Twitch, via Marca: “I would like them both to come, but if one of them were to come, it would be easier to sign Haaland.”
“With Mbappe the economic circumstances are more difficult. Haaland wouldn’t be bad because of his hunger for goals, his size, his speed… It would be easier to reach an agreement for Haaland.”
Real Madrid are interested in both the PSG superstar and Dortmund’s young striker. But in these COVID-19 times, all the clubs have been hit financially. So it would be challenging for Real Madrid to pull off both these transfers.
Mbappe hasn’t renewed his PSG contract, which is a clear sign that he may be on the move, but PSG won’t let him leave without a hefty price. They would ask around 200 million euros. Meanwhile, Haaland has a release clause lower than 100 million euros. The Real Madrid captain definitely had a point when he chose Haaland over Mbappe.
