There is a good chance Sergio Busquets could end his career-long association with Barcelona at the end of the season. The midfielder has a €20 million offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, who only recently signed Cristiano Ronaldo as a free agent.
Head coach Xavi Hernandez has been quite insistent on getting his former teammate to extend his stay at the club. However, Busquets has not made any decision about his future as of yet, with his contract expiring in June.
“In the end, we all work together and the decision is his. We are waiting to see what he decides. He is a very important person inside and outside, he is the captain, he is part of everything and he has earned the right to decide his future. If he can continue, I’d be delighted,” Xavi said in a press conference.

The last member of Barcelona’s legendary Pep Guardiola side also had offers from MLS. In particular, Inter Miami were trying to get the midfielder to make the move, but have been unable to reach an agreement with him as things stand.
Barcelona are pushing to try and extend Sergio Busquets’ contract since they cannot get a direct replacement for him just yet. They are not in the best financial position to sign a new player, but have two options on the table in case he leaves.
Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi has been the preferred choice for Xavi for a long time. But, Joan Laporta believes that Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves is better suited to the club.
