Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba take pay cuts to help FC Barcelona's financial situation

The two first-team captains Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba of FC Barcelona have recently taken salary cuts to help FC Barcelona register their teammates for LaLiga. The club officially confirmed with this, it has allowed the registration of Sergio Agüero in La Liga and for the Club to extend their ‘fair play’ limit.

Both of them have signed these pay cuts on Tuesday to help the club achieve two objectives: the registration of Sergio Agüero with the Spanish Football League (LFP) and to extend the Club’s limit with regards to financial fair play regulations.

Already Gerard Piqué was the first to take a salary cut to help his teammates Memphis, Eric Garcia and Rey Manaj too be registered with the league. 

Sergio and Jordi Alba have agreed to changes in the financial terms of their contracts which included a wage reduction for this season and the deferment of payments for the remaining years.

This will obviously help the club, which has recently offloaded many players including, Griezmann, Emerson Royal, Rey Manaj and others. Also, FC Barcelona have officially confirmed that the club has completed the registration of its players with the LFP.
