FromSoftware fans, mark your calendars: the anime adaptation of one of gaming’s most brutal masterpieces is getting the series treatment it deserves. Crunchyroll has confirmed that **Sekiro: No Defeat** will begin streaming worldwide as an eight-episode series in January 2027 — and it’s packing more story than the theatrical cut.

Produced by KADOKAWA, Qzil.la, and ARCH, this fully hand-drawn anime brings Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice’s tale of loyalty, blood, and sacrifice to life in a fantastical reimagining of Sengoku-era Japan. The series expands on Wolf and Kuro’s journey with additional content not shown in the film currently running in Japanese theaters — a run that’s been extended due to overwhelming demand.

Before landing on Crunchyroll, the project already built serious festival buzz, screening at Annecy’s “Feature Films: Midnight Specials” program and making its North American debut at the Fantasia International Film Festival. The series will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll globally, excluding Japan, China, Korea, Russia, and Belarus.
