### The Plot: A Darker, Fresher Take on the Gang

Set during the gang’s final summer at camp, the series follows old friends Shaggy and Daphne as they get caught up in a haunting mystery involving a lost Great Dane puppy that may have witnessed a supernatural murder — joined by Velma, the pragmatic townie, and Freddy, the mysterious new kid in town.

Sources indicate the series is aiming for a *Stranger Things* tone — a mix of genuine scares, mystery, and a bold aesthetic that balances cartoon roots with pop culture references while staying broadly appealing.

This isn’t your Saturday morning cartoon. This is the origin story with actual stakes.

### The Cast: Mystery Inc. Is Assembled

**Mckenna Grace** (*Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire*) plays Daphne, **Maxwell Jenkins** (*Lost in Space*) is Fred, **Abby Ryder Fortson** (*Ant-Man*) steps into Velma’s iconic orange turtleneck, and **Tanner Hagen** (*Lawmen: Bass Reeves*) plays Shaggy. ### Who’s Behind the Camera?

Powerhouse producer **Greg Berlanti** (*Riverdale*, *You*, the Arrowverse) is also an executive producer.
