## What Is Scene About?

A senior officer recruits the eccentric, unpredictable Inbaraj, an unconventional officer with a mysterious past, to take on a dangerous former officer after the department refuses to step in. With no official backing, he builds a quirky team. Then things get tougher when they face a highly disciplined rival team led by the cold-blooded Eswaran.

## What Works?

**Suriya breaks the mold.** The review says he steps away from his usual hero image to play a deeply flawed character, with quirky mannerisms, impeccable comic timing and an energetic presence. It’s one of his most experimental turns in recent years.

**Naslen surprises as the villain.** Known for boy-next-door roles, he plays Eswaran with a calm, menacing edge. The psychological cat-and-mouse game between the two leads is described as a major highlight.

**Nazriya Nazim shines.** She returns to [Tamil cinema](https://technosports.co.in/karthi-suriya-anniversary-celebration-impact/) after 12 years with a role that goes beyond the usual heroine template, including her own action moments. Her chemistry with Suriya adds a fresh dynamic.

**Strong music and direction.** Sushin Shyam’s score gives the film an atmospheric, groovy mood without leaning on typical mass-music formulas. Jithu Madhavan brings his dark comedy and chaotic storytelling, and the second half picks up pace with intense confrontations and a couple of surprising cameos.

## What Doesn’t Work?

The film isn’t flawless. The reviewer points to a few issues:

- **A slow start:** The first half takes time to find its rhythm.
- **Abrupt shift:** The move from comedy-heavy opening to a fast, intense second half feels sudden.
- **Convenient coincidences:** Some investigative breakthroughs weaken the thriller’s believability.
- **Underdeveloped team:** A few squad members mainly serve as background humor.
- **Uneven tone:** The balance between chaotic comedy and serious thriller moments wobbles at times.

## The Verdict

Scene is a stylish, chaotic entertainer blending dark comedy and high-energy action, powered by Suriya’s uninhibited performance. Despite uneven pacing, it remains a thoroughly enjoyable theatrical experience, especially for fans. One useful expectation check: if you’re hoping for another Aavesham from the director, this isn’t that, but it’s still fun and engaging.

## Should You Watch It in Theatres?

If you enjoy quirky characters, offbeat humor and a villain who actually challenges the hero, yes. If you prefer tightly plotted thrillers, you may notice the rough edges.
