PSV Eindhoven are set to sign Manchester City winger Savinho in the coming days on a loan deal. The agreement between the two clubs is in the final stages and should be completed very soon.
Manchester City have agreed the signing of Savinho from Brazilian club Fluminense since March. And once he is signed, he will be moving to the Eredivisie to get regular playing time and get adjusted to football in Europe before potentially being handed a chance in the first team.
Savinho to move to PSV Eindhoven on loan deal
The Brazilian is a highly rated prospect, and is expected to have a bright future ahead of him. But, with the exceptional talent that Pep Guardiola has in his squad on the wide positions, it will be almost impossible for the youngster to get playing time.
As a result, a move to PSV in a lesser competitive squad would allow him to develop much better. He could also be the short-term replacement for Cody Gakpo if the Dutch international were to leave, amidst interest from some top European clubs.
Manchester City have invested quite a bit in talent from South America recently. They have signed Kayky, Savinho, Metinho and Julian Alvarez over the last few years. The Argentinian is expected to make the first team squad for the coming season, but the others are long-term investments for the club.
