Manchester City have reached an agreement with Atletico Mineiro for Savinho. The player will be joining the City Group for a total fee worth €6.5 million plus add-ons. The two clubs also have an agreement for a sell-on clause in his contract.

The official announcement confirming the arrival of the youngster is expected to be made very soon.

Savinho to join City Group imminently

The Brazil Under-16 international has featured 23 times for Atletico Mineiro, including 12 appearances in all competitions during the 2021 campaign.

He is one of the most promising talents that the Brazilian champions have in their squad, and will be switching over to England very soon. But since Savinho doesn’t meet the requirements for getting a work permit in the country, he will be loaned out to a City group club immediately, for at least one year.

Dutch club PSV Eindhoven have also been rumoured as a potential destination for the player on loan. Where he will develop further is something that remains to be seen, but the formal announcement is expected to include that information too.

Manchester City have been quite impressive with their recruitment strategies this season. They have already confirmed the signing of Julian Alvarez from River Plate, and have also signed Kayky from Brazil. With so many promising young talents available with the club, their future could be sorted out very well.
