Apple Watch users can now take use of a true power-saving mode in the latest watchOS 9 update, which will help them extend the battery life of their watches as needed.

The Control centre or the settings menu can be used to manually enable it. When there is only 10% battery life left, the user is also prompted. When it hits 80% on the charger, it automatically shuts off.

The more energy-demanding features, such as AoD, heart rate notifications, arrhythmia tracking, heart rate and blood oxygen readings, are disabled in the battery-saving mode. Reminders to work out are disabled as well.

Surprisingly, the apple watch will disable Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity if there isn’t an iPhone plugged into it close by. It is also not possible to receive incoming calls or notifications. The system will undoubtedly re-enable data and Wi-Fi if you need a particular app that uses such services. Additionally, if the watch remains within the phone’s connection range, it will provide notifications every hour rather than every half-hour.

Animations and navigation will not feel as fluid overall since the watch’s overall performance will be lowered in the new battery-saving mode.
