India’s star men’s doubles pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, maintained their stellar form by winning the Thailand Open Super 500 title, outplaying China’s Chen Bo Yang and Liu Yi in the final on Sunday.
The world number three Indian duo, who had previously claimed their first major title in Thailand in 2019, triumphed 21-15, 21-15 over Liu and Chen, ranked 29th, in a match lasting 46 minutes. This victory serves as a significant morale booster ahead of the Paris Olympics.

This marks the second title of the season for the Asian Games champions, following their French Open Super 750 triumph in March.
The Indian pair were the favourites heading into the tournament as they were the best ranked of the lot. Moreover, they also didn’t face a seeded pair, with the lineup also depleted of the major names.
Satwiksairaj and Chirag are back at number one in the world doubles rankings, and have won two titles this season to build a head of steam heading into the Olympics where they will be expected to deliver once more.
