The hype train for **Sardar 2** has hit a wall. Despite carrying the weight of a beloved franchise and a stacked cast, Karthi and SJ Suryah’s action thriller sequel is struggling badly at the box office, with Day 4 collections doing little to change its fortunes.

### Sardar 2: Overview

Sardar 2 added just Rs 2.75 crore on Day 4, pushing its four-day total to Rs 13 crore gross in India. For a much-anticipated sequel, that’s a rough number — and trade watchers are calling it a clear box office washout.

Adding to its troubles, the film is clashing head-on with Soori and Suhas starrer *Mandaadi*, which has shown strong momentum and comfortably outpaced it over the same weekend.

| Day 1 | Rs 5.00 crore |
| Day 2 | Rs 2.50 crore |
| Day 3 | Rs 2.75 crore |
| Day 4 | Rs 2.75 crore |
| **Total** | **Rs 13 crore** |

### Area-Wise Breakdown

| Region | Collection |

| Tamil Nadu | Rs 7.00 crore |
| Karnataka | Rs 1.35 crore |
| Andhra/Telangana | Rs 4.15 crore |
| Rest of India | Rs 0.50 crore |

### What Went Wrong?

The film received average word-of-mouth from opening day itself, and that early buzz never picked up. Sardar 2 follows Vijay Prakash (Viji), a former operative drawn into a mission against his old rival Black Dagger (SJ Suryah), involving a dangerous biochemical weapon called Doku — with his father Sardar (Chandra Bose) returning to help finish a mission he once failed. A promising premise, but it hasn’t translated into theatre footfalls.
