Santiago Solari became the first Real Madrid head coach to win his first four games in charge for nine years.

Santiago Solari continued his perfect winning run to earn the Real Madrid job on a permanent basis. He guided the Los Blancos to a 4-2 LaLiga win at Celta Vigo on Sunday. That entertaining victory means the Argentine is the first Madrid coach to win his first four competitive games in charge since Manuel Pellegrini in 2009. The former winger has steadied the ship following Julen Lopetegui’s dismissal last month. That boosted his chances of landing the role permanently with his temporary spell now at an end.

Real Madrid have submitted documentation to make Santiago Solari their first team coach on a permanent basis. The former midfielder took over the club at the end of October. He replaced Julen Lopetegui. Madrid have since won four games in a row under Solari. They have now given him a permanent contract. It has been sent to the Spanish FA (RFEF).

But the loss of another defender will be a big blow for the new head head coach Santiago Solari. Marcelo, Raphael Varane, Dani Carvajal and Jesus Vallejo are also still out of commission. However, Solari will hope to have Isco back to full fitness. He underwent an operation to treat acute appendicitis in September.

Real Madrid confirmed defender Nacho Fernandez has suffered a ligament injury to his right knee in the 4-2 win at Celta Vigo on Sunday. While Casemiro sprained his right ankle. The club have not provided a timetable for the recovery of either player but reports in Spain suggest Nacho is facing two months out and Casemiro will be sidelined for a minimum of three weeks.

Madrid return to action when they travel to Eibar in LaLiga on November 24.
