AC Milan have completed the signing of Samuel Chukwueze from Villarreal. The winger has agreed a contract with the Rossoneri until 2028, and will travel to the city to complete the move very soon.
The two clubs have agreed a deal worth €20 million upfront plus €8 million in the form of add-ons. The medical has been scheduled for later this week, and his arrival will be confirmed once the formalities have been completed.
Samuel Chukwueze to sign for AC Milan from Villarreal
The Nigerian becomes the latest to make the move to Milan, after Noah Okafor, Ruben Loftus Cheek, Christian Pulisic, Luka Romero, Marco Sportiello and Tijjani Reijnders. The sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United has helped the club fund a number of important transfers.
And owing to their lack of quality options on the right wing, they now have Romero and Chukwueze as the starting choices. Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers are also at the club for the time being, but could be moved on if a decent bid arrives for them.
Chukwueze scored six goals and provided five assists in 37 La Liga games this past season. As a result, he could be a valuable addition to Milan’s right wing, which has been severely lacking in recent times.
Separate from the deal for Samuel Chukwueze, Milan have agreed to offload Matteo Gabbia on loan to Villarreal for the coming season. The player has accepted the move and he will be travelling to Spain to complete the transfer in the coming days.
