We already know that Samsung and AMD are working together to offer the latter’s mobile RDNA2 GPU in Smasungs flagship devices. The new Exynos SoC is expected to be released next month by Samsung. However, according to sources, the South Korean tech giant might have even more surprises waiting for us in the coming months.

Sources indicate that the chipset combo of Samsung and AMD might not be exclusive to Samsung’s Galaxy lineup of smartphones. Instead, it’s being rumoured that other companies might be willing to purchase it.

According to reports, Vivo could be one of Samsung’s partners to launch a premium smartphone sporting the Exynos 2200, which is the name for the rumoured chipset. The rumour is going strong because Vivo has employed Exynos chipsets in its high-end handsets in the past, so maybe it wants access to the latest technology this time.

The previous Exynos 2100 was extremely close to the Snapdragon 888, and the only drawback from the chip was the Mali GPU, and this weakness could be overcome with the AMD RDNA2 GPU. However, if the rumours of Vivo adopting Samsungs new chipset is indeed true, and other phone makers may partner with the Korean tech giant. It would significantly reduce Qualcomm’s market share effectively.

Both the Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 895 are rumoured to be made on Samsung’s 4nm process, so there will be no shipments in the coming months. However, for now, we don’t know how the Exynos 2200 with the AMD RDNA2 GPU will perform, and it would be interesting to see how it will perform against Qualcomm’s flagship offering after its release. So stay tuned for more information.
