There have been rumors about a triple-folding Samsung smartphone as far back as 2020, but up to this point, no one has seen anything other than demos at trade shows. This year, rumors of the unusual smartphone have been making a comeback, and some people are theorizing that it would be introduced during the Galaxy Unpacked event that will take place in August. Now, numerous industry analysts have suggested that there is no tri-fold smartphone in development and that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 might just be foldable the Korean manufacturer is working on.

The Galaxy Z Tab has been rumored to be Samsung’s third foldable device, and recent rumors have suggested that it would be a tablet. The device has been making headlines for some time now. On Twitter, the company stated that new information regarding the future Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 are continuously emerging, but there has not been any concrete progress regarding the tri-fold as of yet. Ross Young of DSCC stated that the company will not release a third foldable Samsung device in 2023, with the exception of China-exclusive variants. Danny Dorresteijn, who works at Sammobile, expresses the same sentiment.

Since the year 2020, there have been persistent rumors that Samsung is developing a tri-fold smartphone. At that time, the corporation reportedly demonstrated the technology and applied for a patent for it. During the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event that took place this year, the display division of the company showed a proposal for a triple-folding smartphone, in addition to other unique phone designs. It appears that fans will have to wait a few more years before Samsung introduces a tri-fold smartphone.
